Tutoring Experience

I am a violinist and violist as well as a private music tutor. My experience as a music teacher extends for over a decade by far. I am very passionate about teaching especially bringing the students to their highest artistic standard. I am working in the music department as a violin and viola teacher at Hampton Court House ( https://www.hamptoncourthouse.co.uk)

All the pupils that I have taught proven to be successful and become passionate about music. Additionally, I organise concerts for my private class at least twice a year so all the pupils can experience the stage performance, sharing their music making with family, friends and music lovers.

I am available to get on board more students interested playing either the violin or the viola.
Moreover, a bit more information about myself. I studied at Royal Academy of Music and Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music and Dance where I obtained three master degrees. As a freelancer I play in major UK orchestras including the Orchestra of Royal Opera House, Covent Garden as well as London Philharmonic Orchestra. I am a member of Veles Ensemble, a chamber string trio ensemble (http://velesensemble.com ).
I am an active member of Music Union. I hold a certificate for enhanced DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) check for working with children. I obtained LRAM (Licentiate of Royal Academy of Music) teaching Diploma.

Approach to Music Tuition

I believe that teaching music should be always a joy. My aim is to create a friendly environment where pupils can develop freedom in their instrument playing. I relate to a mixture of Russian, German violin school in a sense of setting the fundamental elements for instrument playing ( rhythm, intonation, sound production, music style) supplemented by practical experiences for most expressive playing.

During teaching I do my best to pursue pupils developing healthy posture, free of physical strain for best results. In our invigorating journey  pupils will go through a voyage of new discovery that is always positive and effective for building pupil’s confidence. Gaining effective practise routines will be always an important part during our music lessons.

I am available to accommodate music lessons at home or to travel too pupil’s home subject to an extra fee.

Testimonials

  • Raya Arunchalam
‘I have worked with Rally for a number of years now and her help & advice has been extremely valuable. She has really supported me in developing my overall technique which has enabled me to comfortably join both my University String and Symphony Orchestra in front desk positions, and has allowed me to grow in confidence as a performer. I always look forward to her lessons as she is such a passionate person who is very thoughtful about teaching, tailoring them to my needs and instinctively knowing when to push and when to give me space to be creative. This has inspired me to be the best violinist I can be!’

‘Ralitsa was an incredible teacher. My technique and musicality on both the violin and the viola improved vastly with her support. I would highly recommend her as the whole experience was hugely rewarding. Not only did she teach me how to play better, but she also taught me how to perform.’

Rally is a brilliant teacher! She gives me energy, focus, and the joy of music every lesson. I have never had such a good teacher- Rally can see what your difficulty is, hone in, and show you what to do but always with encouragement. It’s very special.
